Children of the Earth United Hello fellow nature lover! I am writing this article to introduce you to a very special non-profit organization called Children of the Earth United. Like so many of the people involved with NYSOEA, Children of the Earth Uniteds basic mission is to foster respect and appreciation for all living creatures through education. The main project that were working on is setting up a free ecological, educational information system accessible through the internet thats fun to use! This non-commercial comprehensive web site is being geared towards children and designed to be appropriate for school and home use. It is intended to help children learn about regional and global environmental issues/activities, indigenous cultures, wildlife, pet care, plants, careers, sustainable living strategies, available nature programs and much more. People will have an opportunity to publish and share earth-related activities, stories, poems, music, articles, artwork and to plan and coordinate environmental projects with children throughout the world. One of the components of this educational system provides information to schools and families on nature centers and relevant environmental organizations all over the country (and eventually the world). If you work for a nature center or have educational programs that you offer to children and would be interested in posting a description of these activities, please contact us. We are offering this service free of charge for the following reasons:
Basically our aim is to provide a highly effective infrastructure for people to share their ideas and knowledge with children all over the planet. The invitation to participate in this project is extended to all children and adults. For a detailed list of the topics that will be presented please visit our web site at www.childrenoftheearth.org. As an outdoor educator, you have so much to share. Please consider how you can be a part of this powerful project. Some of the policymaking members of Children of the Earth United include educators, parents, school principals, librarians, journalists, web site designers and a world-renowned nature educator/author. If you are interested in sharing your ideas/knowledge with us, volunteering your time, joining our Board of Advisors and/or making a tax-deductible donation please contact us. Thank you for your thoughtful exploration of these ideas. I look forward to the possibility of working with you on this real life mythical adventure HEALING THE PLANET.
